GIN TRAIN

Thank you for my first experience on the gin train – it was excellent, everything was wonderful so much better than I expected. It was a brilliant evening and so relaxing. All staff were great and we had are own waitress who told us all about all the different gin's as we went on our train journey. The Manager Angela came round and spoke to us all and asked if everything was ok. Superb!

FANTASTIC DAY OUT!

A must if you love steam trains! If we had been in the area for more than a day and a half, we would probably have spent the whole day on the railway and made even better use of our rover tickets. The staff / volunteers were friendly and helpful, both the trains we went on were pulled by steam  and the timetable allowed us time to walk the mile and a quarter from Holt station into the town itself for lunch. Thoroughly recommended!

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!

If ever you get chance to sample one of these meals you must go for it. I can't praise the evening enough. We were pampered incredibly. It felt like we were on the Orient Express. We started at Sheringham, were given our main course on the way up to Holt as the sun was setting in the distance. At Holt we came back and were fed our second course, the main course, back up to Holt we were given our desserts and back down to Sheringham we were given our coffee and mint. Overall the experience was superb.

GREAT TO HAVE YOU BACK…

Well it is just great to be able to travel on a Heritage Railway again, and the North Norfolk Railway has excelled here. Friendly welcoming and helpful staff, all wearing facemasks in their pristine uniforms. The immaculate Teak Set, plus 2 maroon carriages. Separate compartments well managed. Oh and don't forget 90775, whose crew made the loco look and sound magnificent steaming along this glorious coastal line. Well done everyone, it is great to have you back.

EXCELLENT FOR A RAINY DAY!

It's raining in North Norfolk: Poppy Line to the rescue! After a few Engine Driver brew teas in the brightly appointed Station Buffet, we gently steamed to Holt with the Black Prince – a mighty engine at that! At Holt, the excitement of uncoupling and re-coupling all steam, commotion, and smoke. An excellent morning out, the rain was forgotten!

SUPERB… AND DOG FRIENDLY TOO!

North Norfolk is a great place for a family holiday with a dog and we loved that our dog was made so welcome on the Poppy Line / North Norfolk Railway. We boarded the train in Sherjngham and went to Holt. Stunning views along the way! We walked about 25 minutes into the town of Holt and caught a vintage bus back to the train station. At Holt, there is a railway cottage and a miniature model railway to see.
On the train on the way back, we managed to get ourselves a first class compartment, which was great fun!
